Between 1980 and 1996 Ford offered two different metal filler necks. The 1980-86 and the 1987-96. The 1987-96 filler neck is the more desirable filler neck because it allows for the Fullsize Bronco to be filled faster with less chance of "fuel nozzle kickoff". Later trucks use a heavy plastic filler hose inside the steel vent neck (E7TZ-9034-M).
The necks are interchangeable, so this newer neck is a good upgrade for an old truck, especially if filling is becoming a problem.
This filler neck does require the 1987-96 Fuel Cap.
